Gert-Jan Nijsse of the Netherlands

Gert-Jan Nijsse is a graduate of The National Painters School (Nimeto)

He continued his education on decoration an restoration in Utrecht
(NL), Antwerp(B) and Kortrijk(B).

Studied privately for 12 months one on one with Master Painter Pauwels of Belgium at his private institute.
His work is heavly influenced by the Logelain-methods. He increasely aims at realistic and natural reproduction of marble and wood.
He started teaching for the National Association for Decorative Painters 10 years ago. Actually doing the faux aspects in a 2 year restoration course, giving private courses (on the job) and developing new material to intensify techniques.

His students get high appreciation in showing their portfolio for a national jury after the 2 year course and win awards in international competitions.

His teaching is tested on commissions at home and abroad.

Patrick Kirwin received a Masters of Fine Arts from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He has numerous awards and fellowships to his credit, including the Robert N. Alfondre Prize in Drawing and the Morris M. Aein Memorial Prize.

Mr. Kirwin currently teaches at the Art League in Alexandria, VA  and the Smithsonian Institution, as well as guest lecturing at several art schools around the world. He has had his work published in books, and designed and implemented public and commercial murals.
